What if I don't like a post written about me?

Are you concerned that someone might write a negative post about you? Well, don't be. First, negative posts happen far less often than you might think. Second, a Free Posts are automatically signed by their posters, which means people can't hide behind their words. Plus, once someone writes an unfair post, he becomes a target to criticism himself. But if you do see a post that you think is unfair, remember that you have ultimate control over your account.

What You Can Do About It

  1. You can reply to any post made about you, and your reply will appear as a response to that post.
  2. You can vote the post as inaccurate.
  3. You can ask your friends and colleagues to write positive posts about you. The negative post will be overwhelmed by positive volume.
  4. You can retire your account, permanently deleting all the posts ever made about you.

As a preventative measure, you can also block any Member from posting about you.

Chances are an unfairly negative poster will experience negative posts about himself and he'll retire anyway (it's Karma!). So try to wait and see. Let Karma do its thing.

Helpful Tip:

An honest post, even if a little negative, makes your personal story more believable and much more interesting. Just think, where would celebrities be if "People" magazine didn't dish a little dirt?
