Decision #1: Free vs Power Poll

Information is power; Polls provide information; therefore Polls supply power (said Descartes half brother, Billy). But where does all this power go? Do Members who take your Poll get any? For some Polls, Members will be happy to respond for free. In these cases, a Free Poll is appropriate. In other cases, however, Members may require more motivation. That's where Power Polls come in.

Power Polls

In a Power Poll, every Member who completes the Poll receives Karma Credits applicable toward any of Karma411's donation-based activities (e.g., Power Posts or Polls). When you create a Power Poll, you specify the amount of Karma Credits that each respondent receives, the number of respondents who can take the Poll, and a charity that receives the total underlying donation.

OK, so here's the quick play-by-play: When defining your Power Poll, you make a donation to the charity of your choice. Every Member who takes the Poll gets an equal piece of that donation which they can then re-apply toward other activities.

Done and done.

But wait, do you want the results of your Poll to be public or private? Check out the links in the "Related Topics" section below.

Helpful Tip:

Power Polls get noticed quickly. But with any Poll, don't forget to ask your friends to respond. They can give your Poll the momentum it needs to be a success. In short, they'll get the big ball of Karma rolling.
