Walkathon Webinar Update

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

The team here at Karma411 hosted our very first Walkathon webinar this past Tuesday, July 27! First, we would like to thank all of the registrants for attending our webinar; we appreciate all thoughts, comments and questions!

The webinar’s host, Jules Strachman, provided background information on Karma411, and went into detail on how our Walkathon Solution can help nonprofit organization’s supporters to raise funds and awareness for events online.

For those who weren’t able to attend this past Tuesday’s webinar, we will be holding another free Walkathon webinar at some point in the near future – most likely towards the end of August. So stay tuned for further updates as to when exactly that date and time will be!

PMP Summer Scurry

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

On Saturday, August 14 the PMP research foundation is holding its popular fundraiser- the Summer Scurry. PMP foundation, an organization devoted to promoting research to find a cure for Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP), a rare cancer, has launched their Summer Scurry Run/Walk using Karma411’s microsite tool!

The Microsite allows registrants to invite friends, family and colleagues online to support the Summer Scurry with a ‘friendraising’ system. All one has to do is click on the register tab, select the event they are interested in participating in and register. Once this step is completed, the registrant will get their own web page where they are able to invite people to support the cause, track supporters, set and track a fundraising goal, write a story as well as learn how to support the event.

The Summer Scurry will take place in Cleveland, Ohio on August 14 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Throughout the 6.2 mile race participants will encounter summer fun in the form of sprinklers, water toys and ice pops – there is even an optional slip n’ slide at the finish line! After scurrying through the race there will be plenty of family activities and entertainment including summer treats, raffles, craft centers and inflatable toys.

PMP’s Summer Scurry has already raised $2,231!  Congratulations to everyone at PMP and all of their supporters. To learn more about creating a successful campaign or building a microsite visit the Karma411 site.

United Way Dress Down Day

Monday, June 28th, 2010

On Monday, June 21 the Karma411 team participated in United Way’s first ever LIVE UNITED Dress Down Day!

This campaign was created not only to raise money, but to inspire companies to celebrate the commencement of summer by going casual at work in LIVE UNITED T-shirts. In exchange for a $10 donation, which includes a T-shirt, a company can show their support for United Way’s efforts to advance our communities in the areas of education, income and health.

To show our support for United Way we created individual pages, as well as a Karma411 team page in the effort to raise money for this great cause. On June 21 all of us showed our team spirit by wearing our LIVE UNITED shirts to work as well as outside of the office to advocate and show support!

Find out more about United Way’s LIVE UNITED Dress Down Day and how your company can support their cause here.

Learn Social Media Best Practices

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010
On Friday, June 18, Karma411 participated in the New Jersey Social Media Conference in Somerset, NJ.

The day opened with a presentation by David Mathison, author of Be The Media, who spoke about his ideas on how to effectively employ social media to market a brand (and be successful at it!). He also did a great job of explaining the social media space and where it is headed.

Up next was the featured speaker of the day, Alan Levy, CEO of Blog Talk Radio. Alan spoke about how he started out with social media by creating a blog without knowing a stitch about it, and how he was able to turn it into an extremely well-known blog radio show. He also made sure to let the audience know that anyone has the capability of creating and producing their own show- just like he did!  If you’d like to learn more about starting your own talk radio show online, go to BlogTalkRadio.com.

During lunch Gary Vaynerchuk, author of Crush It, gave a video presentation discussing his thoughts on social media. He shared his views on old media, and how it is not dead, but rather a stepping-off point into new media.  He also emphasized the ability of new media to drive down the price of old media; so it might make sense to put up a billboard one week instead of writing a blog.

At the end of the event our very own Jules Strachman had the opportunity to speak on a panel for new social media users. He did an excellent job of presenting and explaining the products Karma411 offers, as well as discussing how the company has implemented social media to expand its networks.  If you are not familiar with the social networking tools Karma411 offers nonprofit organizations, contact us to schedule a demo!

A big thank you to Eva Abreu, of  NJ Social Media, for running the conference!  It was very well put together and a truly educational experience.

NYC Fundraising Day

Friday, June 18th, 2010

June continues to be a very busy (and exciting) month for Karma411! On June 11 we had the opportunity to both sponsor and share an exhibit booth at Fundraising Day in New York City, held by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). A number of us, including Jules, Eric, Brian and John were all very excited to have the opportunity to participate in this top-notch event.

The team shared a booth with one of our partners, the Hope Process. The partnership, called the Hope Process Connect, is a program that provides nonprofits with a portfolio of recurring donations. Learn more about un-traditional forms of fundraising here.

The Keynote Speaker for this event was Geoffrey Canada of Harlem Children’s Zone. In his time with the Harlem Children’s Zone, Inc., he has become nationally recognized as a passionate educator who has helped many children and families in Harlem.

At the end of the conference, Karma411 was pleased to give away an iPad to one of the guests. Congratulations to our lucky winner!

The team was obliged to have met so many enthusiastic attendees at the event, and look forward to following up with those who were interested in Karma411.

Create Your Fundraising Website in Under 20 Minutes

Friday, June 4th, 2010

This week, Karma411 is proud to unveil it’s newest and most innovative product: The Karma411 Microsite!

The Microsite was unveiled with the launch of United Way of Long Island’s “LIVE UNITED Dress Down Day!” The campaign’s goal is to raise $100,000 supporting United Way’s efforts to advance the common good in our communities in the areas of education, income and health.  The site asks supporters to contribute just $10 which will earn them a LIVE UNITED T-shirt to be worn wherever they work on Dress Down Day (Monday, June 21st, 2010).  Contributers can then upload images of themselves and colleagues sporting the T-shirts, and show that their company Supports United Ways efforts.  All are invited to participate in this event.  Go to Karma411.com/dressdownday for more information on how you can contribute!

Have you ever wanted to create a separate website for a fundraising event such as a gala or walkathon? Speaking to Organizations all over the country, we at Karma411 learned that to do this costs way too much and takes too long. That’s why we’ve been developing our latest tool in a comprehensive suite of online campaigns.

The Microsite is an all-inclusive stand alone site that allows you to create your own people to people fundraising platform. Every page contains the organization’s branding and messaging. All the navigation is fully customizable and our support team is there to help every step of the way!

We make it so easy to turn your fundraising ideas into Online Fundraising Campaigns! And with our Campaign Specialists’ experience and expertise, we even provide the ideas! Contact Us TODAY to schedule a 1 on 1 demo of this latest product we’ve added to our robust suite of fundraising tools!

R Baby’s Mother’s Day Run/Walk

Friday, March 19th, 2010

From St. Patrick’s Day, to the start of March Madness, this week has been quite an eventful one. But the event that has been the one of the most exciting for us, at Karma411, is the successful start of a Run/Walkathon campaign that has been bringing in supporters and donors all month. R Baby Foundation, an organization devoted to providing pediatric emergency rooms with full equipment and staff, has launched their 2nd Annual Mother’s Day Run/Walk online using the many social networking tools Karma411 offers.

The R’Baby Mother’s Day Walkathon can be attended in person, on May 9, 2010 (8AM to 11:30AM) in NYC’s Central Park. If you would like to attend, go to their site and create your own individual or team campaign. You can begin raising funds now, and help R Baby with their efforts. Even if you can’t attend, you can still help in the fundraising efforts by joining the Walkathon as a “Virtual Walker.”

The event has already raised almost $200K! Congratulations to R Baby and it’s supporters. We at Karma411 wish them the best of luck! If you would like to know how you can create a successful fundraising campaign on Karma411, please Contact Us. Our main mission is to support every nonprofit in achieving their goals.

Karma411 Weekly update

Monday, March 1st, 2010

This week was truly an exciting one for Karma411. We have relocated our blog. You can now read our updates and enjoy our creative online fundraising ideas at www.karma411.com/blog. Along with our Karma411 blog on team updates and success stories, we soon will be providing you (our readers) with two all new blogs: “Karma411 Support Blog,” and “The Top 8: Fundraising Tips.” We hope you enjoy reading these blogs and we’re looking forward to your comments.

We’d like to call your attention to a featured campaign on Karma411. The Mental Health Association of Nassau County’s Annual Membership Campaign is in progress and ends March 31. Your investment helps to support the 32 Programs and Services that people struggling with mental illness utilize. We’d like to encourage everyone to become a supporter of this great cause. Click here to learn more about MHANC.

Another campaign that’s just underway is a Run/Walkathon supporting R Baby. The walkathon will take place in NYC’s Central Park on Mother’s Day, 2010. Last year, R Baby’s Walkathon Campaign, on Karma411, raised over $750 thousand. If you can’t make it to walk, you can still set up a campaign page to raise funds by clicking here.

Lastly, we’d like to share yet another success story on Karma411. In mid-February, The City of Glendora hosted the 1st Annual Glendora Wine Walk, benefitting the Bryan Clay Foundation. Raising over $8,000, the campaign will help the Bryan Clay Foundation “Build Champions, and Change Lives.” Congratulations to the Bryan Clay Foundation and the Glendora Village Business District.
