The Banfi Acquisition was approved by the Nassau County Legislature!

The Banfi Fields in Old Brookville are one of the most cherished sights in our community. These rolling agricultural fields will double the amount of locally-grown food available to County residents and ensure that our agricultural heritage lives on.

On Monday, December 21st, the Nassau County Legislature approved the acquisition of the 25-acre portion of the Banfi Fields. The transaction is expected to close on December 30th.

This acquisition will be funded through the proceeds from the 2006 Nassau County Environmental Bond Program, a fund designated for open space acquisition, and the North Shore Land Alliance Conservation Action Fund.
